out the door...with a new bag
As evidenced quite clearly by this here blog, I seem to make myself a new bag anytime I go anywhere that isn't the grocery store, playground, or thrift shop (though, I think it could be argued that new bags have been made for these occassions too. Hmn). And so it makes perfect sense that this weekend, this bag was whipped up, as today I'm headed out for a little day trip, sans babes (the same babes who clearly love the camera). I've been sitting on this fabric for a bit thinking I was going to make curtains out of it. But that isn't happening, and so I'm happy to cut into it, I love it so. The colors are perfectly my favorite - the charcoal grey and pink-pink combination, with my green (ah, green) thrown in for good measure. I thought I was going to make a tote, but then I felt like throwing in some pleats, and well, this is what I ended up with. And I think I'm digging it. We'll see how much I dig it after toting it around for the day - I'll report back!

beautiful bag for a beautiful day. have a good time.

Beautiful bag. The best part thought, is that you can have a day off. I hope its for fun, not errands. I love it when me and my girlfriends can hung around the nearest big city for an entire day of shopping.

wonderful, wonderful carryall.
that fabric seems perfect for a
springtime bag with the little
outdoor tables and little blossoms.
so cool. worth cutting tha fabric up
for. and the matching mini bag
is great - i've found that big bags
can always use little bags to help
find things easier. enjoy the bag and
where the day out takes you.

Gorgeous! Thanks for showing us. I love the colors in that fabric. It reminds me of a vintage children's book, when they only used two or three colors. The camera hogs...I have one too. Always sticking that jelly-covered face in the photo and screaming "CHEESE!"

I checked out the "out-takes"....that would have been a great shot of the popcicle if you and that damn bag weren't in the way... oh, well.
The pleats are a spiffy touch and I'm digging on the pink and gray combo as well. Um, where's Lady A? Are you sure you went out sans kids...I know she'd fit in that bag.

I love the bag and the fact that you have encouraged me to "thrift" and craft more. Oddly enough, the shirt I bought at Salvation Army earlier today looks like a twin to the one you're wearing in the photo. *boggles*
