delivering on my promise...
...of sand and baby toes:
Father's Day evening, at our favorite beach
I'm absolutely in love with watching my babes 'be' out in the world - whether it be watching and listening for birds in the
woods, catching waves in the ocean, or climbing a tree in the park.
When all the toys and distractions and walls are out of the way, the essence of who they really are just
shines. And when I'm paying attention, it radiates so strongly that I can't help but be brought right into it too. Good fun.

Looks like the purest form of sweet :-)

All I can say about Dorothy Parker is -- RAD! It's been too long since I've revisited her work -- she was my favorite in college.
As usual, I love your photos and your writing about your children.

Speaking of who they are really shining when they "are" in the world - I was out in the woods with my husband yesterday and it brought to mind so strongly memories of my childhood - my parents took us out to beaches and national parks all growing up - then it struck me how much that had shaped me - what i care about, my sensitivity to other creatures, my imagination (i kept thinking of anne shirley's line about "scope for the imagination", and how true that is). And I thought about you, and how intentional you are about offering your kids access to nature. Such good love that is for your kids - someday I hope to do that too, and your own testimony to that will be such an encouragement to me. (thank you)

I read often but have never commented before. Those are some wonderul pics! And I am in awe how fast you pieced together that quilt top. Tip to share, baby powder is the best thing ever for getting off sand, really try it you will be amazed, I keep a bottle in our trunk now. Dump it on and the sand brushes right off.
