I'm not ready to say it's the end of the season yet, but this is my little goodbye ode to the end of August - a la old school film. It's been a really good month.
Enjoy, and thanks for sharing in some of our August journeys!

The one of Adelaide...has she caught a hand in the net? (It could be my only-got-2hrs-sleep-last-night-eyes!)
Gorgeous photos as usual...a tonic for sore eyes. xxx
bigbucketgirl - oh my goodness! It does appear that way - I can't believe I didn't notice that. And now I can't remember how they were sitting but it's possible that Papa had his arm around her. I suppose that must be it. Oh, I see that photo so differently now!
Could you life seem any more idyllic. Honestly, summer in Maine is something that I'm positively lusting over. My suburban Melbourne, Australia life seems so pale in comparison to the natural landscape which seems to be all around you - very envious.
late afternoon sun just kills me for photographing people - it seems that's when you shot miss a in photo 3? such a magnificant pic! i also love dearly how she's twirling about with the big kids, just chillin with her pals... and your last photo reminds me of my banner... that feeling of "oh sun, please don't go... i'd love it if we could just hang here for hours like this, you and me, in this amber glow... alas, it is time, but these final moments with you today are perfect."
I love A following along with the big kids twirling in delight. That age is wonderful, still a snuggly babe but out there exploring like a big kid. Beautiful photos.
i love these photos! i'm headed to pick up my first film photos in months- thanks to your inspiration to get back to film. can't wait to see them. thanks for sharing your family's beautiful adventures.
I've lived in North Carolina all my life and never gave much thought to living anywhere else.
I now have a sudden urge to move to Maine. Or at least spend some time there. Absolutely beautiful.
Ooooh, so so beautiful. It definitely makes me want to run away from the big city so that my babe can frolic in nature more often. Gorgeous. I am wistful!
Thats it! I'm picking up some film today-you've inspired me. I have a lovely 35 mm Digital Rebel that has been tucked away in the closet since the digital took over. It is calling me...Gorgeous photos. Happy Day Amanda!
All beautiful summer photos but the one of all the children playing together is just so lovely and evocative. I really enjoy your writing and your life, so please keep us posted!
Janelle - I'm shooting film with an old Nikkormat FT, with 200 ISO fujifim. I use a couple of different lenses - mostly a wide angle that I can't remember the specs of right now.
no!!! I don't want to say goodbye to summer! Whaaah!!! your pictures are gorgeous. Love the one of all the kids spinning. Enjoy these last weeks of summer sun.
beautiful pictures Amanda.
Love the one with the kids twirling in what looks like a misty morning.
I am not ready to give up August...well somewhat..I am ready for a bit more routine to our day...been a wild summer with the amount of neighborhood kids at my house. LOL!
Getting homeschool stuff organized and readily at the kids fingertips...new folders,markers,pencils....I still love the feeling of new school stuff even if we dont need so much of it at home as the traditional way of back to school. :o)
Lovely! I live at the beach too, but you are so able to capture the magic! I always feel like I need to let me children experience more freedom after reading your site, and so I read it everyday. Thanks for sharing.
I love tucks, pleats and smocking too, there's just something about them that makes one feel so-o-o special and feminine.I love your sweet little girl and her dresses. There is nothing sweeter than a little girl in a dress.
Life is beautiful when you have a right attitude. I really enjoy your way of looking at things end enjoying little things. Something I'm still learning.

Great pic of all the flying children. Adelaide with her arms stretched out - love it. She looks so big and reminds me that my own girl is growing too!
