what i love :: girlfriends...

Girls
...and hot summer nights, watermelon in a thrifted pyrex bowl, vintage skirts and handmade skirts, the river (with only a mild amount of trespassing involved - because the water belongs to us all), a bald eagle sighting, cabernet sauvignon, tzatziki and pita, ice cream, and much laughter. All in one beautiful evening.

I hope you're enjoying your weekend!

sounds so lovely. adam and i have sooo many discussions around the "rules" of nature. our dream is to one day live in a place where nature doesn't close at sunset...

Oh, tzatziki sauce and and pita bread, are you Greek? My mother-in-law is from Greece and her tzatziki sauce and pita bread is unreal tasty.

wah! i wanna be your girlfriend! :)

Oooh. That sounds so good, especially the girl friends. We are due for a girls' night here soon. I love the skirt in the middle, almost as much as your bird one.

Your posts are lovely to read and make me miss being near water...

Two of my dearest girlfriends from back home flew down to visit me this past week. The best part was the laughter. I love the closeness we share despite the distance.

so so great amanda!! thank you for the great photo (which I totally intend on stealing :) it was such a great night!

Can I come over? I can bring tzatziki and pita directly from Greece. I hope there was a lot of garlic in it. Do you make it yourself? Email me if you want the recipe. It's really easy. Have a nice weekend.

lovely - the image, the sentiment, the warmth, the friendship. all of it. enjoy every moment of it!

Sounds like a perfect girl's night out.
It all seems so great, but I think my favorite part would be the skirts, watermelon, and *good* *adult* conversation!!

How magical. Like a storybook. Can I come and live in your world?

what a fun time!

Sunday nights are when I have a movie night with too much popcorn and laughter with my friend. We love it!

like your skirt and the middle one too.

Its very important to mingle with your girlfriends. Sometimes weeks pass before I even notice that I've not seen mine and by then they are sorely, sorely missed. Never the less, we rekindle our lady time with similar evening. Most often ours involves red wine as well!

I love phots of peoples feet. This is a great one. You are lucky to have them.

Sounds like a fabulous time!

gee... I always seem to find something lovely here... such a pleasure

yes! I am dying for reconnect of girlfriends- my life has been insane as of late- encorelady.blogspot.com- and I need what you have! I am enjoying my babes- but sometimes you just need that girlfriend time- it is magical- like nothing else... I smile at yr picture of perfection! Adore yr website xxxooo

oh what a fun night! This tired mama could use a girls night out.

mmm . .. that water looks so nice. great photo!

sounds like a perfect evening, love that photo!

sounds like good times.

*sigh* the photo alone makes me wistful for close female relationships like that. I wonder how my local MOMS Club would feel about making the next Moms Night Out a "dangle your feet in the river and eat fruit" kind of night. I know *I* would go :-)

So so good, in so many ways. The photo is timeless. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

How fantastic. Great photo. I bet you're an amazing friend to have: )

looks just about perfect!

is there some kind of dress code for your friends? nice skirts required? because how cute are y'all? so cute!

oooh, I love that picture! My best girlfriends each live 3,000 miles away from here, on opposite sides! They've never even met, but they'd get along wonderfully. I miss them every day. What a lovely evening!

perfection.

It all sounds so magical...what a lucky woman you are to have such girlfriends.

You are making me dream of summer. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Beautiful photo!

Beautiful picture and beautiful skirts!

Wow - I love this picture... and the sentiment. You are, indeed, lucky! This photo even makes me contemplate a skirt!

what a beautiful timeless photo. love how it captures such a great moment shared between friends ... i can imagine 3 girls/women of any age seated there on the dock sharing time together. really nice.

I read this and went straight to the phone and called my best buddy. Always nice to hear her voice. Thanks,T
