the morning after...

Sox1
In the wee hours of the morn', the Red Sox had themselves a little sweep. This little corner of Red Sox Nation is very, very happy (and very very sleepy) this morning.

Sox2
Also this morning, Papa was sent off to work with his new "knit during the World Series" hat. ("Kim's Hats" in Last Minute Knitted Gifts)

Break
And now you must excuse me while I ingest about three more of these.

Yay, Sox!

That's one happy looking family you've got there! It looks like Ezra got himself a haircut since the last picture I saw of him, too. Very cute!

Looks like fun! Ezra is looking so grown up, and with his new haircut he seems to look more like his mama. Have a good day Amanda :)

YAY SOX!!!!

That's a lovely sweater you're wearing this morning, Amanda.

:)

Boston is the best place to be right now! Come visit for the parade!!

At 4:00 this morning, I woke up to find that my husband had still not made it to bed; he had been celebrating the win via the internet with the rest of the hyped up Red Sox nation. I think he finally got to sleep around 5:00 . . . But I'm thinking it's worth it - Red Sox win the World Series!! Woo hoo!!! Now, back to my coffee. . . .

go sox!! and thank you for making it happen as efficiently (in # of games that is, NOT in # of hours, goodness!) as you did... our days start at 5 am, we just didn't have too many more of those LATE nights in us! it was worth it though! it must be, i've never used so many exclamation marks in a single comment before! ;)

YAY SOX! I unfortunately fell asleep on the couch while my husband cheered them on late into the night.

I believe that you posted a recipe for a salad/side dish made from winter squash and chick peas? I can not find it again on your blog after searching...if you have the time (I know you are a busy mama!) could you email it to me? I have a winter squash just waiting to be made into something yummy!

have a fabulous day!

Heather Wilson - I don't think I posted that on the blog, it must have been this one on Flickr:

The recipe (linked) is from Orangette. And it is truly, the yummiest squash dish ever. So so good.

It seems like the perfect day for an afternoon nap.

I've been away for what feels like many moons because of an attack of worms(the computer type!) and have truly missed your photography. Let's hope things are back to normal now...I love the coffee and the autumn carpet...x

that hat is just awesome!
ahhh to be able to knit more then just a scarf with one stitch b/c that's all i know :(

looks like ya'll had a blast :)

I'm seriously LOVING that top photo!! Yay Sox!

I was REALLY hoping for a victory. Because I don't know if I could keep staying up so late!! Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.......coffee.

Is that KC as in Kansas City? Yay!

Oh, Amanda. I just noticed you added my shop to your sidebar... THANK YOU!

Go Sox yessssssssssssssssss!

Our 5 month old daughter's first World Series and the Sox sweep it! Life is sweet.

Look at those happy faces! You guys look like you had so much FUN!

Now that's a happy family! If only you were in the pic, too, and it could be your family holiday shot, too.

Congrats on the win. I think the Rockies blew their mojo when they tried to copyright Rocktober. :) How lame is that?

My daughter's seriously bummed.

Wendy - I hadn't heard about the copyright issue. Wow. That is a little odd.

I'm sorry your daughter is bummed! They had an AMAZING record going into this - definitely something for her to be proud of!

sweep, shmeep. world series, shmorld shmeries. i'm feeling a bit of a sore loser this morning. ;)

Go Red Sox!!! We're sleepy here today too, but so worth it. Love the hat!

Love the new banner. I loved it as a photo, but it's so apt as your banner.

i love that you knit steve a hat every year. this one is great.

thanks Amanda, now wonder I couldnt find it on the blog! I knew I had seen a picture of it and it looked so yummy!

Now I know I have been reading your blog for about a year...I distinctly remember that the first post I ever read was on SoulePapa's winter hat from last year.

I decided to do the same for my little guys the very day I saw that post. I just started this year's hats(we live in CA so We don't really need them for a while still) and am still totally smitten with the whole idea.

You inspired me to crochet a hat while I was watching my Red Sox, from down here in GA. I only managed a purple head band, but I am wearing it proudly today. I am glad that it was a sweep so that we can get back to sleeping.

Madeline - yes, sleep is good! I hope all you East Coast game watchers are getting a little nap today!

we watched the red sox, too, yay!! And what a nice hat that is... nice to know someone else was knitting during to game too, knit-power!!

Haircut? Do tell! Congrats to your team.

I check into your blog often and thought I would just leave a note to let you know how inspiring you photographs, crafts and passions are. I look forward to purchasing your book. Thanks for all your work.

being from the east coast (and raised a sox fan) but living in COLORADO now...today was a little rough here at my house... :)

Sweeps, Peep, Two guys in jeep, he he he. I dont' know anything that is going on in baseball.......oh that makes me lame,BUT I seriously love that hat! I am trying to make something similar, only with crochet. I had to start all over today as my original was big enough for a giant cranium. Uggg!

Did someone get a haircut?

My husband stayed up late watching the World Series! He didn't have a preference but appreciates a good game. We stay up as a family to watch the World Cup and U.S Open and the like - gotta love a good game! :)

More: my husband has fond memories of he & his late-father watching lip-biting Stanford vs Cal games together. Ah, memories!

Glad to see a little bit of sports fandom even here on your all-natural, non-commercial blog. I really enjoyed the Series and am so glad that the Sox won, but at the same time, a little bummed that it's over - it was so fun! How much fun is Papelbon's crazy cartoon face? There's just something lovely about games and sports and baseball. Yes, some of them get paid outrageous zillions to hold a bat, but you look at their faces when they Win! The Big Win! and they're there because they love it, and they love the game.

Beautiful room! I love the soft color of your hardwood floors too!
