Thank you. What beautiful pictures to start my morning with. I miss the mighty Atlantic so much. If you ever make it over to Ireland you must go to the Giant's Causeway. I think you'd really like it, especially the folklore behind it. Have a great weekend.
I am so out of touch with blogging and commenting as of late, but I just wanted to comment on your previous post about your "barber" style shirt... Last week I was trying to recreate a simple gathered dress for Emily, and when I put it on her, she looked like she was ready for a haircut! It was a smock in the worst way. When I saw your post, well, let's say it encouraged me a bit. I guess you two would make quite the perfect pair! :) hehe
Beautiful photographs!! And, taking the words you leave us in this post, since you always give us (readers) such inspiration, through your photos and testemonials, this tiny bits of your life, which seams so beautiful, so peaceful, so well built, cherished, nourished, to make better with our own lives, if someone, somethimes, throuhg a distant word, can give you something in return, is just... fair!
Can't help but think of Robert Frost's... "Nothing Gold Can Stay"
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
I've been reading this for a while, and never commented. but felt complelled to now.
I'm am constantly inspired to "make stuff" everytime I see your blog. I can't tell you how good it is to see that someone else actually give hand made gifts and make hand made things and thrifted things for their home. There are just too many people that just go buy whatever it they think they need, and simply discard it later, becuase low and behold, it has little meaning in their lives.
I am also so so happy that you encourage your children create. I believe my parents are a huge reason behind any sucess in my art/craft/creative life. They let me make things, no matter how ridicolus it seemed to them, and becuase if it, I've become an adult who is confident enough to try making just about anything, without letting the fear of failure stop me. it seems your children are totally getting that. How.extremely.wonderful.
I'm not a mother yet, but plan on it one day, and I love reading your trials and triumphs of a being a " creative mother". amen sista.
gorgeous photos!!!
wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend too!!!
