Icepic

We're home, thawing out (thanks for all the warm wishes!), and already re-telling with wonder the tales of our little two-night winter adventure. I'll let the pictures tell some of the story - there are some on Flickr here, and I'll add a few more in the next day.

Stay well and WARM!!!

Very brave but kids love extreme adventures don't they, they are some lucky kids.

Welcome Home Amanda. You have been missed

Gosh...how refreshing. I can just smell the crisp, cold air and how wonderful it felt to get home into the warmth. I love the photos and especially the one of adelaide in her snowsuit. Glad you all are ok and had fun.

thank God you are back safely.... missed all the photos and comments...can't wait for some more.... did actually sleep out in a tent?

There was no 'tent' camping! We hiked into a cabin on the lake - there was no running water or electricity, and it wasn't insulated, but it was toastier than I expected it to be! A pleasant surprise, to be sure. --amanda

Such beautiful pictures, they make me want to go and stay in a freezing cold cabin. I loved looking through the whole flickr set with the contrast between summer and winter. That cabin looks like a slice of heaven all year round. Thank you for sharing those inspiring photos.

Wow! I love that you went out and did this with your little ones! I'm such a wimp I freak out about bringing all four to the grocery store. Wasn't it so cold?

I just have to say that I love, love, love the red cabin picture you have on Flickr. I don't have a Flickr account or else I would have posted it over there. It's a great photograph!!!

Nothing is better than being in the elements for lasting memories. Your flickr set is just fabulous...I remember your earlier visit to the cabin. It's great that you can have multi-season experiences.

This one's great. Love it. Glad you guys are safe and sound and warm. Ah, winter camping. Brave with such a little one around -- she must be a tough little cookie.
