sounds like Valentine is not that far away..a rehearsal maybe? very homely...
lovely picture Amanda... will probably get as many comments as the library one...
Love the pic. And love the books you have put up, especially the cookbook Salad People which I will be ordering. My 8 year old has started her own collection of cookbooks because she wants to be a chef and this one looks perfect.
Hours after our dinners for four, I'm snoring like a baby. Sigh. Even my 40th birthday dinner-out didn't make it past 9 (Home just in time to put the 2 yo to bed; I swear I didn't plan it (must be instinctual)).
i get giddy for nights like that. even if we don't say much to each other. the quiet is so enjoyable. and made all the better when things like chocolate or wine accompanies it.
so nice...
drooling over the chocolate cake..yum. okay i'm 9 months pregnant
we should do this before #2 comes but hey that might be today as i had labor for for 8 hours yesterday but then it went away..
we do this too on occasion after the kiddos have gone to bed. isn't it funny how something as simple as dinner at home, alone, together can feel so rejuvinating? perfectly (and beautifully) captured in your pic!
I'm so glad the two of you were able to reconnect over what looks to have been a lovely dinner, and what was without a doubt a heavenly dessert! I've got to remember to do the same here.
I love your pictures, but I'm missing your positive missives. It's been a tough day and I always love reading about all the wonderful things you're doing. I especially admire all those walks you take with the kids in cold Maine. I'm here in NJ and too often stay in when I should go out.
Oh Amanda, that looks wonderful. Our little one's been ill recently and not sleeping in the evenings, we really miss any time for just the two of us let alone quality time like this with chocolate cake too!!! Thank you again for making the little things seem that little bit bigger. I miss your 'voice', hope the books coming on well.
what a nice pic. You have a wonderful blog and pictures Amanda. I don't get to read it as much as I would like since our company has blocked our ability to read blogs. I read your blog and it is such an inspiration. I wish Emma and I could have such a simple, adventurous, fun-filled, loving life. I always imagine if I could stay home with my Emma things would be easier.
sometimes this is So Necessary! thank you for sharing!

The lovely soft lighting and intimate nature of your photo made me think of this quote:

but to one person you may be the world.
