My oldest learned to read using Little Bear stories. I had nearly forgotten. It's been six years, and now we are teaching the littlest. Thanks for the visual reminder! They are the most precious tales. He's going to come down with a big plop!!
Oh great! I just ordered books for my 27 mo yesterday and now I want this one! Argh! I concentrated on nature stories. Ah well, too much good stuff to choose from. How old is A again? It's cool to see she's into the longer stories, too. Just over the last month we've moved up to Frog & Toad and Miss Suzy...
books to the ceiling

I love your blog. You have such a sweet family. We homeschool too. I'm not sure how I found your blog but I'm glad I did. I read it all the time. And.. we love little bear goes to the moon!
My daughter just got a collection of Little Bear stories for her birthday last month. We read Little Bear Goes to the Moon together yesterday, and I found her reading it to herself this afternoon. So sweet.
Little Bear! Love it! Good for indoor reading, especially in the snow. I've been wishing for some snow like you have had, but it's more rare where we live...today being the exception. Thanks for your photographic inspiration to get out there and take some photos.
I had that book when I was little. I adore everything Sendak has ever made. One of my greatest favourites is Chicken Soup With Rice. It always makes me yearn for chicken soup with rice.
I love the perfect little hand on the book. It portrays so much interest---the holding the book open to see the picture. Cute. You capture such quintessential parts of childhood beautifully.
Oh! this brought me out of lurking! We have this book too, remarkably intact from my own childhood, and it is such a favorite around here. Your blog is also a favorite (of mine) as well- thank you!
Wonderful book. We read that one yesterday.
