I agree with Calvin's sentiment. I rarely read the archives when I discover a blog, but I have read yours in entirity. Can't wait for 4/1 and the release of your book. You inspire this mama daily!
I wish my husband would occasionally take pics of what *I* do. Some day it would be nice to look back and see what clues my desk held. Maybe not today, though...
must be in the air.... just cooked a yummy chocolate and almond cake from nigel slater's receipe book for all kids coming tomorrow for dinner.... meanwhile all loooking at it..i think it might just not last until then...hope you are not too fed up with re reading all the manuscript....keep going amanda........
i agree about the stripes Meg.
your cake is making me want to try out my mom's chocolate mayonnaise cake recipe I grew up on.
so moist....
have a great weekend too Amanda.

Love the idea of photo journaling 30 days... I think I will copy your creative idea! I am new to unschooling and have LOVED reading your blog to inspire me!
a smile can brighten any moment,
a hug puts joy in all our days,
love will stay with us forever
and touch our lives in precious ways...
Beautiful keepsake....keep typing. I was looking at the excerpt of your first book. It sounds great. I can totally relate to finding that special spot in nature.

just listened to your interview on craftsanity last night. very inspiring. i'm glad jennifer asked you about the criticism of some blogs - that they present a too perfect vision of life. i often find myself feeling somewhat inadequate and when perusing the blogs of wonderful folks like yourself. hearing that you've had yoru share of challenges reaffirms for me that it is possible to find joy and beauty in life amidst the chaos. i feel more inspired to try and inject creativity into my ramshackle life with young children. thanks!
Love the note! Those are what it is all about. I never realized that you have red hair until this picture (you often have on a hat; or I am just really unobservant). me too. Cool, and a red head - pretty special.
Thank you! And - You're not unobservant. My hair just changes color a lot. ;) Not sure why. Maybe it has something to do with my best friend being a wonderful colorist. Hee. Red is fun. ;)
One of my most favorite pictures this month, I love the clock and the wall, the cake and the way your hand rests on your leg...It makes me feel still. Peaceful.
Thanks so much for sharing your life with us, Amanda. I am not a frequent commenter, but reading about your family and your art projects has been such a pleasant, warming experience for me.
Happy 3rd Blogaversary :-)
Soulemama.
I decided to stop lurking & send my encouragement.
I LOVE your blog & read it every few days...I am very inspired!!
Thank you for your openess & honesty.

Lila, I thought maybe the photo was from last night and the water was wine. Cake and wine, a perfect pair.

Hi,
I know this super clock on your wall, have seen it today in an etsy-shop that sells vintage goods, but I did forget which one it was.
