Meals outside are surely one of my favorite things about Spring. And the kids, too, are in love with taking a break from the work and play of outdoors for some snacks. (The rule of 'no feet on the table' apparently need not apply.)

Count me in! Looks like it was a beautiful day with healthful snacks! I wish I had time to do this. I just want to put my feet up, period!
LOVE it! Although I'm not so good on the no feet on the table inside. I just love how they just want to get up close to whatever it is they're doing/eating. Great photos this week! :-)
Is see that Ezra has the best spot!!!
My babes just LOVE to wear their wellies with their shorts too.
They get some funny looks sometimes but we don't care.
Cheerio
I love the plaid shorts, striped shirt, and rubber boots! Your boy could have been dressed by my Will! LOL, I love this stage in the game, the independence and willingness to "do it myself", all while leaning on my leg for support. Perfect!
haha! This is great! Seriously I am so jealous of your week of spring - I'm sitting at a desk during the most lovely hours of the day. I'll just have to pretend... :)
Oh, how I yearn to be that age again and have my mom prepare a mid-day snack to be enjoyed in the sun! That's one thing that's hard about being a teacher in the classroom - I don't get to eat snack! (My children eat two-by-two at a cute little table.)
I wish I could see even a peek of green around here but winter is still trying to choke spring out of existence. I also can't wait until we put grass in our back yard. Having more than a patch of construction strewn dirt would be nice.
Hummm! You can't imagine how I wish I could take my baby girl to play in the garde... but it is raining in Portugal... So for now all I can is to look at this beautifyl pictures and dream :) with better days!
We are laid back about manners here, but I couldn't be doing with boots on the same table as foodstuffs, not for my kids or anyone elses kids or any one large or small, adult or child if I see a boot on the table I'll say: "Take it down lovey!". Too many bad experience with animal faeces being applied to table cloths from footwear in my lifetime to be relaxed about that one. Ahem!
But oh to be blissfully unaware of health risks (as children are to a certain extent, give or take the infrequent precocious one). Those were the days ;)
My little daughter seen this pic and said "Is that us?" It's one of there favorite things too, Lunch outside. The older ones usually insist on making the lunch all by thereselves and setting the table as well. We are not allow to look until they say we can come outside and eat.
Oh I remember when my son went through the timeframe of wearing rubber boots everyday....they are soooo much easier to put on and off. :o)
I have been getting my deck chairs out of the shop for the nice weather....I know it has to be warming up soon.
Yes, eating outside is by far one of my favorite parts of the weather warming up---especially in the spring when the bugs aren't quite out! What a lovely picnic table you have!
After a long winter it is nice to have a very large room extra to dine in, or do some drawing or reading, or sleep if you want to. Over here we have the nice companie of the sun too, after a lot of rain this winter. I'm so glad spring is back!
This looks fabulous ! So ... I'm wondering what is in that big platter ?! I see popcorn, apples, carrots. What else is there ?! I'm always looking for new healthy snack food ... I love the way this is set out !
wondering what camera and lens you use - we just bought a really fun camera and are very excited to see the world in a new light. also we love your book - almost finished reading it and the changes are coming!! happy spring to your maine-landers!
I love eating meals outside. We have grey autumn here, so we are doing less of it at the moment, but as soon as we get a sunny afternoon, we are straight out there.
Also I have a free e-book to download on my my site that you might be interested in called Planning With Kids Top 100 Tips.
