A silly little hand injury meant that there wasn't as much pre-holiday knitting as I would have liked or as there usually is. My intention to knit everyone a little something didn't quite come to fruition. But Annabel got her sweater, and I did have just enough knitting power to finish knitting Harper's hoodie. Which, honestly, is the one I was most hopeful about...because he asked for it. And as any knitting Mama knows, those requests are precious and must be minded. I love, live for those requests, as specific as they may be. Love.
(The green stuff all over his hands, belly, and legs? Self-applied dragon tattoos, of course. And yes, rest assured that we have since restrung his new guitar to properly suit his lefty style.)
(Ravelry page) Harper's specific request was for a "blue hoodie", so I went with Carrie Bostick Hoge's Odette Hoodie, using Quince & Co. Lark. I have a tendency to make things a little bit too big for the kids, but I wanted this one to fit this winter, so kept myself at the 4T size. It's just right for right now.
It knit up without any trouble and quickly enough, were it not for my wrists slowing things down (I really do think it's time to relearn how to knit Continental style). After finishing, I added a few chunky Wooly Moss Roots wooden buttons. When all was said and done and under the tree, my boy Harper was very happy with his long-awaited hoodie.
As you can see, there will be another hoodie promptly cast upon some needles for the littlest miss. A Mama simply couldn't resist a request like this, right? I can't.
