Quite accidentally, I chose the perfect color yarn for my traveling knitting project, as the colors on my needles were reflected everywhere we went in Lisbon. It's a lovely skein of cashmere from a great local shop, Fiber and Vine. And I carried it with me across the Atlantic for use on what turned out to be an equally perfect traveling pattern! Thanks to Susan for suggesting Close to You in the comments before I left. It really was just the right travel project - one skein so it didn't take up too much space, and a pattern easy enough to memorize after just a few rows. And the amount of knitting required absolutely perfect for a 'lazy' vacation that involved a lot of stopping to knit. Because wow, Lisbon really has the whole outdoor kiosk thing down! One could (and maybe we did) spend an entire day hopping from one outdoor kiosk in a beautiful setting to another starting with coffee and yarn, walking a bit and moving onto vino verde and yarn, and walking some more to finally land with port and yarn. Brilliant, those kiosks!)
And with a little bit of that peachy pink on my shoulders now, It's time to get moving to some holiday knitting, I'd say. Just in time.
