Home feels so good! We had a great adventure, Harper and I, but there's no place like home. Especially this time of year, when everything is beginning. It's still quite gray and rainy here, but what a difference a week makes in May! Everything is much greener than when I left, and things are happening. Fruit trees are pruned, chickens are laying more eggs, and we're harvesting the very first of the season's offerings. It's comical how exciting that is really. Nettles! Chives! And (almost!) Asparagus! But I'll take it all, happily, as a sign of more to come. I'm bringing in daffodils too, I planted so many new bulbs last fall (and yet, I want to double it next year). The peach toned ones are my favorites, so gentle and with a little bit of a ruffled edge too. Ah, May!
