The packages are pouring in - and with them - so very many hats and blankets for the Caps to Cap-Haitien Project! I'm quite behind on the 'Cap Counter" but will be catching up shortly.
I'm getting lots of email asking about how strict the deadline is. I'll happily take packages a bit past the 10th deadline. So if you haven't mailed your donation yet, but would still like to - please do! I would like to get it all wrapped up in the coming weeks, though...so get sewing and mailing!
I'll share an update when I have some numbers!
Thanks once again for your generosity with this project - I continue to be blown away with each arrival from the Post Office. Thank you!
YAY!So glad you're getting so many!

I've got them sewn, but I won't be able to get to the post office until the 11th or 12th. My husband and my sister are both having surgery this week. (When it rains it pours!)

Timely. Very timely. I just cleared out the closet and have lots of t-shirts for hats for my little one (any day/week now) and for MamatoMama.
I was just popping on to email and ask about the deadline myself. I'm planning to whip them up tonight and tomorrow and have them in the mail Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for the reprieve!

I was able to send my package out but totally forgot the little note I had typed up, I just stuck my name and e-mail address on a slip of paper and put it in there! If you are able to take things past the 10th then maybe I will work on a few more hats and a blanket or two, I tried one but my 2 year old wasn't having it!

I'll try to get to the post office tomorrow to send my hats. This is such a great project!

With my schedule this month, I won't be able to get my caps finished until January. Is it possible to mail them myself to Haiti? I think I'll have 20 caps or more.
Thanks.

Whew...thanks for not being strict on the deadline! I came online just to check to see if you were extending it... will try to ship them soon! Thanks for doing this and giving us an opportunity to participate! :)

Whew! A bunch of people helped me cut a number of hats out and I'll get them out ASAP. We've had a familly emergency come up, so I am very glad for the extended date.

So glad to hear the date's a bit 'fluid'. I have lots of hats done and ready to mail, but at least five more shirts I can cut up and send if I have an extra day. My two year-old scuttled my sewing machine - grrr. lol

I just found your blog. I'd like to make some receiving blankets. Any instructions or can I just go with the size/type I want to make? Is it too late for me to do this?

Thanks so much for putting on such a wonderful project! I can't wait to see how many hats we all put together.

I plan on making some this weekend and will have them in the post to you on Monday! Thanks for the stretching of the deadline - I really wanted to participate but have to borrow a machine to get them sewed up! :)

Amanda, can you provide an alternative address (with street name and number) as no courier service accepts a package to be delivered in PO Box? I don't trust the national (Greek) post, expecially at this time of year.

I just finished a stack of little caps. I'll be mailing them Monday morning from Phoenix. I was so happy to breathe new life into our t-shirts.
