As crafters, the reasons we create are many. Just one may be to spread a little bit of peace into the world, to make a small but meaningful difference in one person's life through a simple act of crafting with intention. Mama to Mama seeks to find ways to connect handcrafters with mothers, children and families in need of a little bit of handmade love.
1/09 - final count!

I am indeed excited to hear the final number. Thank you so much for organizing such a great project. I was very sorry to have not been able to make hats myself, and am really looking forward to the next endeavor so I can participate.
Happy New Year to you and your family!

You know, I hadn't really thought about what the (hundreds of) hats might look like all in one spot.
Will you post a photo of them all, once counted? That would be fun. *smile*
Such an amazing project, it's wonderful.

I'm so glad that this project was a huge success. I'm wondering how many tuperwares/tubs/cardboard boxes of caps (and blankets!) you've ended up with.

I am a 5th grade classroom teacher and I want to make these hats with my class as a service project. I could even get the whole school involved! If we are too late for this Cap Haitian project do you know of any other hospitals in need? Thank you!

Thanks, Amanda, for organizing this. I led a simplicity workshop in November and the participants cut hats of their tshirts for me to sew up. It fit so perfectly with our thoughts about living simpler and sharing our abundance with others. Your family inspires me!
