With health returning to our house, and a fresh new year upon us, it feels so good to be 'back at it' a bit - back at the work of writing and making things (we're working on the third book!).
So, along with the rest of our home getting fresh corners, my little corner studio has been getting a bit of clearing out, too - to set the stage. Some sights from my space this week...
My littles love rearranging thread spool when they visit this corner. One sorts by color, one by remaining thread amount, which assures both great company and also that I can never find what I'm looking for.
My fabric stash dwindles and dwindles with each clean-out, down to my absolute favorites.
I have all but given up on having a tidy inspiration board, and I think I'm just fine with that. The layers? They are many.
So many big knitting plans for 2010 in these shelves. Oh my...
Steve picked up this thermometer for me so that when I complain about how cold it is out there, I can at least be accurate. But where's the fun in that, I say?
The bottom paper cut piece is from the lovely and talented Elsa Mora.
And, my view...which I love, despite how cold it may be (yes, yes...there's a space heater, and it isn't really that awful-cold, but please don't tell Steve I said that, okay? Sweet.) Right there in the background, ready to go, is a pile of the very, very yummy Folksy Flannel by Anna Maria Horner.
Now, all I need is an extra layer of wool, and the hum of a quiet baby monitor to really get back at it.
