I had such fun putting together this Fat Quarter Mix for the lovely folks at Sew Mama Sew, as part of the Guest Designer series. You can read a bit about my choices on their blog, where you can also enter to win one of the Fat Quarters yourself. And in their shop, you'll find the "Amanda Soule Pack" 12-Fat Quarter available for purchase. {Update: I hear it's sold out!}
Did I mention how much fun that was? I mean really now....fabric gathering? I'm still dreaming about all the possibilities with this particular stack. Good times.
And speaking of good times with fabric...above are the results of the little bit of sewing that's happened around here these past weeks, as I've been rounding out the boys wardrobe with some new pants.
Ezra's pants (the top two photographs), were made using the Pajama Pants in Heather Ross' Weekend Sewing (made with a bit of Heather Ross fabric to boot). That pattern is such a great, easy one, and my little Ezra loves the shape of them. These have linen as the main fabric, which according to him, makes them 'pants not pajamas'. Perfect.
Harper's set of pants are made with an old Ottobre pattern (April 2006). I had nearly forgotten about this great pattern, but am so glad I found it in time for Harper. That extra panel in the back leaves all the room needed for cloth diapers, and the elastic hem (which I used for some, but not all of these) is great for newly walking babes not to get tripped up on, I think.
That's right...walking! Good gracious.
