This week, in my kitchen, I have...

:: found comfort in familiar rhythms (our standby Tassajara bread loaves)

:: signed up for this year's CSA share. (Find your local farm!)

:: tried to convince my people that eating a bowl full of onions was fun. (Nobody believed me. Oh well. Maybe we'll learn to love onion soup later.)

:: admitted that my cuisinart mixer - used almost each day, and a serious thrifting score - has a dead motor. (It's a good thing another thrifting season is nearly upon us - good luck such as that can strike twice, right?)

:: used, and very much enjoyed, the very last jar of canned tomatoes from the (small) 2009 harvest. 

:: ordered seeds for a new season.

:: watched my fourth babe discover the joy of hanging out and helping in the kitchen, via the Learning Tower.

:: cleaned a lot of oatmeal off the floor.

 

 

:: made bagels, much to everyone's delight (recipe from Artisan Breads Every Day). I think we'll make them again today.

It's a busy place, this kitchen of ours.
