This week, in our kitchen, we have....
:: taken many meals out of doors.
:: relied upon the weekly familiars (Tassajara bread, and nut & seed granola from Feeding The Whole Family).
:: fallen in love with the new book Good to the Grain: Baking With Whole Grain Flours. So far the Rhubarb Tarts and Bird Crackers have made their way to our table with great results. More to come.
:: made graham crackers for the first time, at the prompting of Ms. Chicken. They were yummy. And though I cooked them too long, no one complained.
:: remembered that I love, love, love making cheese.
:: welcomed the May-time treat of Rhubarb Soda.
:: made Miss Mae's Coffee Crisps again, and smiled knowing that many of you have too.
:: devoured Roasted Asparagus Fritatta from Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef. Yum.
:: watched my boys crack the code to fractions with a (decidedly not handmade) doughnut. Success!
:: picked up our first CSA share of the season. Yes!
:: decided that this Orzo, Feta and Tomato Salad with Marjoram is a mighty fine summer pasta salad stand-in until the corn is ready enough to make my favorite (which I must take a better photograph of this summer).
:: abandoned failing dinner plans for ice cream cones. Just once.
