SouleMama: What inspires you these days?

Madelyn: hawthorne yellow, the gleam, fleck and swoop of seabirds drawing skycircles, jazz  and poetry, golden springtime rain and the silver dawn, blood orange lemonade, petals and ribbons and roadtrips, all shiny things including the exquisite stars, leaping green, seaglass and feathers, shells and beach pebbles, the sexy perfumed scent of my garden swooning into bloom, hovering butterflies and ladybugs, singing, smiling, and especially church bells, morning coffee, chimney’s and tulips and chocolate, Sunday’s (always, because they are perfect)

SouleMama: How do you avoid burnout?

Madelyn: Lately I have been immersing myself in yoga ~ eating healthful vegetarian meals and smoothies…sitting out in my garden in the evening listening to records and spending time with friends.  Planting herbs and begonias, reading poetry , taking long beach walks, telling my children how much I love them and chasing my rabbit around my studio.  Soaking up the present and planning road trips! And singing.  Out loud everywhere and anywhere!
