Today, I bring you a giveaway from SouleMama Sponsor, The Organic Sister. In Tara's words:
"I offer mentoring for parents who wish to embrace the principles of
mindful parenting or unschooling. As a family, we strongly believe that
the philosophy of unschooling can be applied to any family and any
circumstances and I've found great joy in helping families bring into
their homes the freedom, trust and love mindful parenting and the
unschooling philosophy has brought into ours.
I blog about our living on the road, mindful parenting, learning without school and organic living at The Organic Sister."

Tara: I was unschooled as a teenager and credit that empowering experience to much of who I am today. However, I wasn't aware of the unschooling movement and the philosophy behind it and when the time came for Zeb to enter school, we went the traditional route. It was such a saddening experience for all of us, but through it we discovered unschooling and mindful parenting and it transformed our family, as well as our entire outlook on life. We slowly rediscovered our trust in each other and in the natural curiosity of children. And we found such freedom in finding our own path, supporting our interests and living passionately. It's influenced every aspect of our lives!
SouleMama: What inspired you to start this coaching ?
Tara: Parenting can be hard. Parenting outside the mainstream can be downright overwhelming. We all need support and it should come from a place of compassion and validation for our personal challenges. Unfortunately I've seen so many people (including myself) face criticism, judgment or harsh words when they open up about their struggles. No one should ever fear asking for help or being honest with themselves or others. I know that all of us do the best we can with what we have and I come from that place of understanding and respect to help parents overcome personal challenges and nurture love and trust in their homes.
SouleMama: Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
Tara: "What you can do or dream, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it." - Goethe
Some many of our choices insist on our being bold. We're bold when we bring children into our hearts, bold when we choose to parent them peacefully, and bold when we admit we're imperfect. We're bold when we settle into homes and bold when we choose to travel full-time; when we choose to be stay-at-home, work-at-home or work-outside-the-home parents. We're bold we place love, authenticity, trust, and passionate living as priorities in our lives.
Anytime I'm doubting myself, Goethe reminds me that simply by being bold amazing things can happen.
