SouleMama: What inspires you lately?
Madelyn: Blueberry marmalade, autumnal merrymeather (leaping through piles of freshfallen leaves), persimmon light and twigs and figs and feathers, poppyseeds, mushrooms and hiking to waterfalls with my beloved, whalesongs and midnight blue skies, pale gold words skimming hushed rivers tipsy on champagne, scraps of poems, my son’s homemade brownies and my daughters voice singing jubilantly in the car, beguiling braids in my hair, freshly sharpened pencils and unmapped roadtrips, copper beech leaves, clamoring mornings high on cinnamon coffee, birds nests and quails eggs not to mention reading in bed ~ and pumpkins named Penelope.
SouleMama: How do you avoid burnout?
Madelyn: I take my journal and find a bench by the sea and write poetry, oh! and lately I am having a lot of fun playing around in photobooths especially this fabulous photobooth I found at the trainstation. (like that picture you see here with my red shoes) I also love to play records and dance around my living room because it’s just so much fun. Right? Of course right!
