SouleMama: What's coming up next for your business?
Sandi: I am finishing up my next fabric collection, which will be called Secret Garden. I am in love with this collection! I am also getting ready to start on my second book and send new patterns off to the printer. Whew.
SouleMama: How do you come up with new ideas?
Sandi: When I am designing new fabric, it may be odd, but the title of the collection is the first thing that comes to me. That is what brings the story together for me, and once I have the title of the collection, everything else just flows. I immediately know the types of designs I want to include, and the colors that will bring the story together.
SouleMama: What inspires you?
Sandi: I am greatly inspired by my surroundings! Vintage elements are also incredibly thought provoking to me. And of course, my family. I design many fabrics or sewing patterns with my kiddos particularly in mind.
SouleMama: What's your most treasured thing in your home?
Sandi: I have two most treasured tangible items! First, my sketchbook. It is more than just a sketchbook to me, it is also a journal, calendar and gathering area for all the thoughts in my head. And sadly, the second item is most definitely the thing that would have to be left behind in a fire as it is my piano. I love to play, it is the activity I turn to more than anything else. I play for about an hour a day and I love it.
