Rachel: LüSa is created from the names Lupine and Sage, our two kids. To us LüSa represents family, love, and trust. I was recently reflecting on the difference between larger corporations and small family businesses like our own. I realized that most of all it comes down to a personal connection and trust. Our business - and our name - embodies that energy.
SouleMama: What's coming up next for you and your business?
Rachel: I have a vision that I daydream about constantly. I can see it perfectly in my mind. I envision LüSa Organics on a small organic farm on the outskirts our rural community. Reclaiming a parcel of agricultural land to organically grow our own herbs and other ingredients makes me swoon. Imagine standing in a beautiful old barn surrounded by handmade soaps and balms, looking out onto rolling fields of organic lavender, mint, calendula, and sunflowers! Magic.
SouleMama: Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
Rachel: “Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls.” ~ Joseph Campbell
SouleMama: How has motherhood changed the work you do?
Rachel: Motherhood is at the heart of most everything I do. Even as I type this I have a little one snuggled into my lap, singing me songs. My life and my work are inseparably bound together. Indeed, motherhood is the filter through which I see the world. On a less philosophical level motherhood inspired me to add our bestselling baby care line and our line for expectant mamas.
