Today, I bring you a giveaway from SouleMama Sponsor Make Good Books. In their words:
"Make Good: Crafts + Life is a series of craft books meant to inspire creative living. We’re part of Trumpeter Books, an imprint of Shambhala Publications. Our website features descriptions of all of our books as well as free sample projects. (Full disclosure: We also publish Amanda’s books!)"
SouleMama: How long have you been in business?
Make Good Books: The Make Good series launched in 2008 with two books; we now have seven titles and more in the works! While the series is still relatively new, Shambhala Publications has been an independent publisher of high quality books of benefit for over 40 years.
SouleMama: What inspired your beginnings?
Make Good Books: The idea for this series was inspired by our love of Japanese craft books, and our desire to make those books more widely available. What we love about these books is the quality and beauty of the photographs, which really capture the craft lifestyle. In each book there is a strong sense of nature and home, and a casual elegance that makes each project feel like a natural extension of our day-to-day lives. As a bonus, they also feature wonderful projects and have really clear instructional illustrations!
SouleMama: How do you come up with new ideas?
Make Good Books: While many of the books in the series are Japanese craft books in translation, we also publish original titles in the Japanese craft style. When considering a new book for the series, we look for an overall style that resonates with us as people, not just as crafters. We see crafting as a lifestyle—one that allows us to slow down, connect with our family and friends, and seek inspiration from nature. Each of these books are meant to inspire, whether you actually make the crafts or not.
