SouleMama: Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?

SouleMama: What's the product you are most excited about offering right now?

Kate: We started carrying Japanese erasers a couple weeks ago. They are adorable with their tiny size, precise detailing and sweet design, but are also very fun and interactive. The erasers are assembled with separate color parts making them a mini puzzle that can be taken apart and put back together. My kids love them! I appreciate that they are responsibly made from an eco-friendly resin and are non-toxic: no lead, no paint, no phthalates, no PVC, no latex and they are recyclable. I think my favorite is the hedgehog or maybe the elephant - hard to decide.

SouleMama: How are your children incorporated into your business?

Kate: Sage and Sierra, my twins, are now 7 and going in to 2nd grade. It's amazing - 5 years have passed since I opened Stubby Pencil Studio. The girls are very interested in arts and crafts and are amazing little artists. They love to draw and we have quite a gallery - mostly cats and Pokémon. They help me fill orders, place shipping labels on boxes, and let me know when the postman is out front. They also hold supplies for product photos and give me feedback when they test out the latest arrivals. They are very involved and are curious to unpack new shipments. They have also learned to negotiate trade - helping in exchange for something new - and they are very motivated to help in exchange for the little erasers... I think I've found a new form of currency.
