Today, I bring you a giveaway from SouleMama Sponsor, Finns & Flowers Handmade Toys. In the words of owners Melody and TJ:
"Finns & Flowers Handmade Toys is a small, home-based, family business run by Melody & T.J. We handcraft our wooden toys using only locally sourced wood with three principles in mind: they need to be safe, they need to be durable as well as beautiful and they need to engage the child's heart, hand and head."
You can follow along with Finns & Flowers on Facebook.
SouleMama: Tell us about the beginnings of your business.
Melody: Finns & Flowers grew out of a desire to provide our daughter, Lily, with safe and natural playthings. There is something so special about gifting someone (especially your children) something crafted with your own hands and knowing how much love and heart and soul you put into it. We loved it so much that we decided to try to make a living doing it.
SouleMama: What's the product or offering you're most excited about right now?
Melody: We're really excited about the addition of our all natural, plant-dyed playsilks! Our family has always loved using silks for imaginative play. T.J. uses plant dyes to dye organic wool by day and we thought silks would be a great addtion to our shop. We love the rich colors that the plant dyes bring.
SouleMama: How does the balance of work and family play out for you?
Melody: We are constantly trying to find a balance that satisfies our family life and the need for sleep. Family always comes first and we usually find ourselves up at all hours making toys. The kids do love to help and we can usually find a good job for them, like applying beeswax polish, and they love it. So, balance is tricky, but we're gettin' there!
For today's giveaway, Finns & Flowers is generously offering the following to ONE winner:
~ our small wooden barn!
(It's the perfect size for a few of your favorite animals. Costructed of solid northern white pine and finished with an environmentally and kid safe linseed oil, this barn will still be around for your grandchildren to play with.)
