Today, I bring you a giveaway from SouleMama Sponsor, Quince & Co. In their words:
"At Quince & Company, we sell handknitting yarn mostly sourced and spun in the US. We use wool from American sheep and the yarn is spun in New England. We're committed not only to 'local' yarns, but to fibers yarns that are grown/made responsibly in other parts of the world--if we can't source the same thing here. E.g., we import an organic linen yarn--the fiber is grown in Belgium and the yarn is spun in Italy. Our basic wool line consists of four yarns all in different weights and structures--all come in 37 colors. And we also have an American wool/silk blend."
You can follow along through the Quince & Co. blog as well!
SouleMama: Can you tell us about your new lookbook?
Pam: The way to market yarn is through patterns. A large part of what we do at Quince is coming up with knitting patterns We're constantly knitting and we work with a handful of designers/friends to publish a new pattern every week. No small feat. But recently, for a change, and in order to involve our customers, we put out a call for scarves, cowls, and shawls for a small collection. We got many, many submissions and after culling the pile ( a difficult process), we put together a small lookbook of the results. The experience was a little overwhelming--trying to tech edit, style, photograph, lay out, edit, and proof 12 designs all at once. But with great help from the designers, we pulled off Scarves, Etc.
