Don't you match your clothing to the knitting of the day? No? Hmn...
Thanks to a whole lot of dance classes, Nutcracker rehearsals, horseback riding, drama classes, phone calls and more moments at which my hands are free...my knitting is coming right along. The latest off my needles is this wee sweater, for my newest little niece Vera. She was born in May, so this auntie is quite late in handing over her very first handknit. I was happy for this little sweater to make some quick fabric buttons (picking up the tool for the first time since last year's holiday frenzy.) Once again the sweater pattern is In Threes, this time knit with Madelinetosh merino. Still working from the stash, this precious bit of leftover was from my own tea leaves. It's such a luxurious yarn that feels so good on skin, I hope little Vera loves wearing it so much that she forgets that her first handknit was four months late in its delivery. (I predict she'll just giggle at me. She's fabulous like that.)
Today involves back to back choir rehearsal and ballet classes. Just the very moment the lunches are packed, my knitting basket will follow. It's my season for knitting.
