SouleMama: How long have you been in business?
Erin: I've been a professional photographer for the past 5 years. I started my wedding photography business (www.alovesupremephoto.com) a little before my daughter turned 1, and am currently finishing up my 5th season! My artistic vision has always led me in a very creative direction with my photography, so my images remain unique and I think that's what attracts people to my photography. Over the years I've had many people contact me asking how I get my images to look the way they do, and many questions on basic photography, so I began teaching some classes out of my home and then online. I soon realized that there really isn't a class out there that not only teaches the basics of photography, but also takes it a step further and discusses how to create unique images, cultivate the artist within, and take you into the editing process as well. That was when I created the Eyes Open Creative Photography E-course.
Erin: When I was three years old, my parents gave me a Polaroid camera and that's when my love of photography started. I remember even as a small child telling myself to capture an image the way nobody else would see it. I wanted to photograph something that had never been seen in that particular way before. I still carry this motto with me in my work today. As an older child I would set up photo shoots with my friends, and eventually took a black and white film course in high school. I spent my young adult life cultivating my artistic eye and after exploring digital photography, really developed my photographic style.
SouleMama: What does a typical day at work look like for you?
Erin: My typical work day is all day everyday. I usually work seven days a week, day times, night times...you name it. When you own a business you really can't get away from it. I am so lucky to love what I do, so I always look forward to working! I spend my days editing photos, e-mailing clients, brainstorming new work, updating blogs and websites, and photographing wonderful people. When the e-course is running, I spent a large part of each day discussing the course with participants, viewing photographs, and getting to know everybody.
SouleMama: What can people expect to gain from taking your course?
Erin: I think there are a lot of people out there who have digital cameras and don't really know how to use them. I am the type of person who gets more confused after reading manuals, and prefers one-on-one help or seeing something visually in order to learn. My course is written in a way that engages the readers, is very personal and warm, and also is packed full of information. Participants can expect to be confident and comfortable shooting in manual mode, start to develop their unique style and creative eye, learn some techniques and tricks of creative photography, and create stunning images that will capture moments in time!

I take terrible photographs! Actually, they're just really dull. Here's hoping I win a spot in the course!
