Saturday greeted us with a slow, rainy and rather dark start to the weekend. The perfect kind of weather, the right kind of moment, for a little bit of sewing. Sorting Mama's buttons by color, and sitting by perhaps the last fire in the woodstove of the year, putting the finishing buttons on a spring shirt.
I gave the Esme another go, this time going down in size just a bit. I want it to be loose and comfortable and flowy, but not so much that it's just too big and awkward and maternity-like. This one feels right in all of those regards. (The fabric is a Michael Miller gingham.) I like where the sleeves fall - they're totally out of the way and off my elbows, which will make it a great working shirt. That is, just as soon as we can get out there and really start working. Soon. Soon enough. For now, there's a little more stitching to be done...
