Today, we bring you a giveaway from SouleMama Sponsor, Silk Oak . In Jan's words:
" Silk Oak offers original design cotton clothing, hand silkscreened in our studio in Ithaca, NY since 1977!"
SouleMama: What word describes your business best?
Jan: If I had to pick a word, it would probably be Community or Connection. My favorite part of Silk Oak is the deep connections that have formed over the last 35 years. Not only do I have connections to my customers but they have formed a worldwide community. There is nothing more lovely than hearing from a customer who was in another city or country, wearing their Silk Oak, only to have someone come up to them and say, "Silk Oak, you must be from Ithaca!". Over the years, this has been the opening connection for many long lasting friendships!
SouleMama: As a child, what did you wish to become when you grew up?
Jan: That's a funny question or maybe it's the answer that's funny. Most kids like to dress up in costumes and put on plays or sing. I was a child performer, doing tv, broadway, touring and I loved it. It was the only way of life that I knew but, when I thought about being a grownup, I dreamed of being a mother!
