Likely many of you know, but some of you may not have had the blessing of having come in contact with Kathreen Ricketson. A long-time leader in the online craft community, creator of the website Whip Up, the woman behind Action Pack magazine for families, and author of countless articles and a few books, including one in progress. She was an inspiration to so many in the craft world, a beautiful community builder, and a great supporter and cheerleader of artists and crafters. A friend, collaborator and mentor to many of us. More than all of that, a wonderful mother and true inspiration in mindful and creative family living. While on a grand family adventure with their two children, Kathreen and her partner Rob died tragically this week. Rob and Kathreen put out so much inspiration and love into the world, positively touching so many lives along the way. I grieve their passing, while hoping that all of that good energy Rob and Kathreen shared with all of us, comes back now to surround those two children for the rest of their days. (A fund is currently being set up for Otilija and Orlando.)
Today, instead of {this moment}, I'd be so glad if we could all take {a moment}. A silent moment in thoughtful memory of Kathreen and Rob, sending a little love and light to their children. And after that, a moment spent with those we love, doing something we all enjoy together. A single, special extraordinary moment. A moment you'd want to pause, savor and remember. Save the moment in your heart and hold it close.
