My big girl has taken to doing the chores all by herself of late. Feeding the chicks and the chickens, the pigs and the sheep twice a day. A five gallon bucket of water is a little bit too heavy for her (for now), so she makes the trip, bucket halfway full, twice as many times as the adults have to make it. Back and forth for each animal, from barn to faucet to grain/hay bins and back again. Happy, content, and so very much in her element. The evening chores are usually done around about the time I'm making dinner, and I watch her out the kitchen window as I do so. She was so happy that I came along this night, and I was so glad to be there with her. She always saves the sheep for last. And lingers there....just a little while or longer.
