SouleMama: Do you have anything new you'd like to share?
Aurora: We are thrilled to be included in the 2013 Martha Stewart American Made Awards. We are in good company and are seeking votes until the contest ends on September 13th. After producing our shoes for 20 years, we only recently began working on really spreading the word about our shoes and our values in the US. We hope that this contest helps us to gain a little recognition and encourages other small businesses to think about using locally sourced materials in their production. Anyone interested in helping us out, can vote on our American Made page here.
We are also excited to be partnering with Taproot Magazine to sponsor the Taproot Gathering at Squam Art Workshops next weekend. We live in rural New York and grew up watching our family tend gardens, raise animals, and put food up for the winter, so we understand the value in these tasks and rituals. We are so happy to see a workshop dedicated to self-sustaining skills and only wish we could sneak away to attend. Maybe they'll need someone to teach simple leather craft in the future...
