SouleMama: What inspires you?

Tuula: At the moment I'm very inspired by all kinds of handicrafts: embroidering, knitting, crocheting and combining those techniques with sewing. This is because we have our first grandchild. She is so cute and I want to wrap her with everything handmade, like I did when our own four kids were small.  

SouleMama: What's the one thing you can't live without?

Tuula: Good local food. Daily doses of green tee and oatmeal porridge. I also love berries, tomatoes and apples and eat them every day. As we live here in Lapland, we mostly eat local food: vegetables, self picked forest berries like lingonberries and blueberries, wild herbs and meat from wild animals (reindeer and elk). So we actually are very "hip" with our very typical everyday Lappish meals. We did not know it before we started reading blogs of young urban families :) We were so happy, when we noticed the most of the food we eat is now mentioned as "superfood". 

SouleMama: Has your business changed over time?

Tuula: I started as a one woman's design studio and now we have almost 30 lovely creative employees and corporate partners all over the world. That is amazing, and fun!

SouleMama: Is there a creative pursuit you haven't explored yet, but would like to?

Tuula: Yes, writing and illustrating books for babies and small children. Maybe some day when I retire...if I ever have the heart to retire.
