SouleMama: What's your favorite part of your job? The most challenging?

Danielle & Andrea: Our favorite part of the job is also the most challenging, working as a creative team of two! It is so amazing and wonderful to work side-by-side with a good friend - sharing and building on the work of each other often times coming out with something better than either of us had originally envisioned. That being said, working together with a friend - a passionate one - can be tricky when we have strong visions that don't always match up.

SouleMama: How do you keep yourself motivated, and avoid burnout?

 

Danielle & Andrea: Truth is, we don't. Not always, anyways. One of the beauties of being small business owners is that there are so very many things to be done. If we don't want to work on finances we might write blog posts instead, work on a layout, or - best of all - do a project with our little ones! We also give ourselves permission to take a break from time-to-time to refresh and recharge!

SouleMama: What's your greatest craft/art skill, and what's something you'd like to learn more about?

Danielle: My greatest, well longest-lasting, crafty skill and passion is knitting. I've knit for more than a decade in different cities and countries, with children and without. One thing I am dying to learn is how to do beeswax encaustic. I think 2014 might be the year!

Andrea: My greatest craft skill is one that I will forever consider a work-in-process - painting. I paint stones and canvases, with watercolors or acrylics - pretty much anything I can get my hands on! I'd love to learn so so many things - but I think at this chapter in my life, my biggest draw is to both sewing and photography. Now I just need to make the time!
