SouleMama: How are your children incorporated into your business?

Kate: My daughters have been involved in my business since 2006, when they were 2 years old, and I designed thank you notes for them to color. They are now 9, and although they love drawing, painting, sculpture and more, they still really enjoy coloring. Actually, most kids we meet like to color, so we decided to add free seasonal coloring sheets to our site. We are starting with Valentine coloring pages and there are 3 adorable designs to print and color. Next, we'll add Spring and Easter coloring pages and plan to have several coloring contests throughout the year. We hope everyone enjoys these when visiting our shop.

SouleMama: What word describes your business best?

 

Kate: Delight! I love art supplies - but only the good ones. I love pencils that sharpen easily and don't constantly break. I hate that! I can't tell you the number of junky pencils that have come through our house - they're pretty miserable and a waste and kids learn the difference, too. I'm proud of the products I've sourced for our customers and I hear happy responses from families that shop with us. When you receive a box of goodies from Stubby Pencil Studio, I sincerely hope you are as thrilled with the products as we are to sell them. I see faces filled with delight as kids (and adults) use our supplies, and it's a great feeling to know that we can help to inspire their creativity and bring art and color into their life.
