It won't be long till the summer antiquing tourist season is upon us here in Maine. As such, this is the time of year when so many of the flea markets and antique shops have their annual sales, clearing out a bit of the old before freshening up for the season to come. It just so happens to perfectly coincide with the time of year when us locals could sure use a dose of color, an afternoon whiling away the hours wandering the aisles with a friend, and maybe even coming home with something useful and new to look at. More enamelware pots for another compost bucket. A stool for in front of the woodstove. Some funky little hangers for girls dresses. And - what I was on the hunt for - the start of some new dishes. Treasure hunting is so much fun.
