SouleMama: What inspires you?
Marisa: I am the Babylonia Sales Manager and resident babywearing enthusiast, and recently attended the International Babywearing Conference in Tempe, AZ. It was so inspiring to see a room full of people wearing their babies. I was amazed that in a room with hundreds of babies, there was almost no crying. I also love hearing stories about how babywearing has changed peoples' lives. It is such a small thing, but it can make a huge difference in quality of life, especially in those first months of getting to know your new baby.
SouleMama: What's your favorite part of your job? The most challenging?
Marisa: I love seeing people realize how awesome babywearing is and what a difference it makes in the day to day life of a parent or caregiver. The hardest part of my job is convincing people to give babywearing a try! Babylonia wraps are all free of buckles and clips, so the learning curve is a little steeper. People tend to balk when faced with a big piece of fabric, but that lack of structure is what makes our carriers so comfortable.
SouleMama: What's the product or offering that you are most excited about in your shop right now? Tell us about it.
Marisa: My personal favorite baby carrier right now is the BB Tai. It is a Mei Tai style carrier, but with wide fabric straps that offer a perfect fit. My 1 year old loves being in it and I love having my hands free. Whenever he starts to get fussy, I can pop him on my back and he is content to peek over my shoulder for hours, or settle in for a nap.
