Today, we bring you a giveaway from SouleMama Sponsor, Mama Bliss Coaching School. In Kathy's words:
"Mama Bliss Coaching School is a 12-week training program that instructs moms on how to coach other moms on deeper self-care practices, creative expression, and leading a values-based life that invites more simplicity.
This certification process prepares students to launch an online coaching practice by training them in the ten Mama Bliss Coaching tools, the Mama Bliss Coaching approach, as well as providing an outline for leading live workshops.
The Fall 2014 session begins September 15th and applications are being accepted until Wednesday, September 10th.
I blog about mamahood, coaching, and work-from-home business over at Bliss Beyond Naptime."
SouleMama: Tell us about your customers.
Kathy: The mamas who enroll in Mama Bliss Coaching School have a deep desire to connect with other moms and support them through the typical challenges that mothering as a creative, passionate woman bring up. That, and for some mysterious reason, 80% of them seem to have a four-year-old!
Maybe because they are four years past their birthing experience, these mamas are ready to contribute to the household income again, but are seeking a way to merge their passions and areas of expertise, while keeping them close to the homefires and allowing them to make their own work schedule.
The amazing women who have journeyed through this program also love writing (usually on an already established blog), have a certain level of craftiness, and many are homeschoolers and/or homesteaders. Some of the mamas are birth practitioners, lactation consultants, reiki practioners, aromatherapists, educating consultants, nutritionists…basically, they’re all really interesting mamas! But all of them want to begin offering coaching services to other moms—either online or face-to-face—and are seeking a program that is mindful-mama-friendly and gives them a starting off point in this fulfilling area of work.
SouleMama: How does the balance of family and work play out for you?
Kathy: The relationship between my family time and work time remind me of the birds I would see on our neighbour’s horse’s back - a deliciously protein-rich, symbiotic relationship!
My work feeds the inspiration in me that allows me to demonstrate to my kids (especially my daughter) that they can serve the world with their gifts and passions. And my family inspires me to construct a rhythm to my days, weeks, and even the years, so that I have the time and space carved out to reconnect with my loved ones and my own intimate needs.
I also intentionally designed the sessions for Mama Bliss Coaching School to begin and end within the school year so we can savour the rich in-breath of the winter and summer holidays together as a family.
SouleMama: In your mind, what is that one thing which makes your business different?
Kathy: Mama Bliss Coaching School was created with the busy, but slow-living-loving mama in mind. I was careful not to overwhelm my mamas with the pace of the course, the material, or the time commitment. The content itself is specific to the struggles common to a loving, creative mother—overwhelm, procrastination, and perfectionism, to name a few.
Participants are also capped so as to keep the group dynamic small and intimate, and cultivating connections among student. Also, in this way, everyone can experience more direct attention from me.
And the coaching manual itself is not your typical textbook! If you can imagine, reading the course material is a lot like sitting down with a friend over a cup of coffee. But that friend of yours happened to have one too many refills and is gushing forth all her coaching success and coach/mama life balance secrets to you!
SouleMama: Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
Kathy: Besides many birthing analogies, Mama Bliss Coaching School is also laden with reminders to embrace, and even celebrate, our imperfections.
For that reason, and because of my deep love for Leonard Cohen, this is my favourite:
“Ring the bells that still can ring,
Forget your perfect offering.
There’s a hole in everything,
That’s how the light comes through.”
- Leonard Cohen
