It has been nonstop apple-making around here this week since our trip to the orchard a little over a week ago. Apple pie, apple custard, applesauce and apple butter, oh my! Oh, you're hungry? Have an apple! No one is complaining.
Someday all those apple trees we've planted in our own orchard will grow enough to give us more than a few apples a year. (Right? They do grow, don't they?) Until then, we are so happy to pick at Ricker Hill. We spent a lovely afternoon there last week with our friend Phoebe who was visiting. We were happy to introduce her to the marvel that is apple cider donuts (yum) - best enjoyed in an orchard, on a hilltop, on a beautiful September day in Maine with the ones you love. Yes.
(Thanks for all the love yesterday. You're all so nice.)
