"Artterro Eco Art Kits are fun, convenient and affordable art projects for boys and girls ages 8 to 108, assembled by hand in Madison, WI. Using natural materials like wool felt, recycled handmade paper, we make it easy to unplug and enjoy art with family & friends! Plus, Artterro.com now features Creative Gift Sets, crafting tools and art materials, to complement our kits and make holiday and birthday gift giving easier than ever.

It’s full of simple DIY craft tutorials, art & sustainability inspiration, and behind-the-scenes insights into our creative company. You can also follow us on Facebook and Pinterest, where we share even more arts and crafts ideas!"
SouleMama: What's the offering that you are most excited about in your shop rght now? Tell us about it.
Forrest: We just relaunched Artterro.com with a much-improved and expanded store. We now sell Creative Gift Sets, quality crafting tools and beautiful art supplies along with our regular line of Eco Art Kits. Plus our new and improved blog is full of art inspiration, DIY tutorials, sustainability tips and creative ideas for your family. I’m incredibly proud of how it turned out, and I can’t wait for everyone to check it out this holiday season!
SouleMama: Tell us about your customers.
Forrest: Our customers value quality, sustainability and creativity, and they’re looking for an alternative to the typical arts and crafts kit you can buy at any big box store. I hear from parents, grandparents, art teachers and crafters who tell me that it’s a challenge to find gifts that don’t feel wasteful, “cookie-cutter” or overly commercial. I think of our customers as being a lot like us!
SouleMama: Tell us about the beginnings of your business.
Forrest: I was inspired to start my business after a frustrating shopping experience. I wanted to find a fun arts & crafts kit that I could do with my young son. I had always loved making art with beautiful natural materials and wanted to find a kit that was affordable and easy so we could make gifts together. After searching everywhere (I really mean everywhere), I thought, if I'm having this problem then there must be other parents with the same issue. I created my first kit soon after. A couple years later I found my business partner Jen, who shares my passion for art, creativity and family life. We now have eleven products that we assemble by hand here at our Madison, WI office. We sell them to specialty stores all over the US and Canada, and directly to customers from our web store.
SouleMama: What advice do you have for people wanting to be more creative?
Forrest: We write about this a lot on the Spark blog. My advice boils down to setting aside a little bit of time and space in your home and life, just for art. So, setting up a little art station so you have a special place where you can create (or a mobile art station if space is limited), and making 5-10 minutes of art per day a set part of your schedule. It can be difficult at first, but gradually art will feel like both a daily habit and a reward.
