Yesterday, the sun appeared, the wind quieted down and the temperature reached an amazing thirty degrees fahrenheit. Thirty degrees! We took full advantage - the big kids and Papa hitting the slopes, while the two little ones and I spent the afternoon having our own adventure. We built a snow fort, made a fire, and toasted a few marshmallows. Thank goodness Mama keeps a secret stash of those (I'll never tell where they are) for just such a special occasion. It felt so good there, sitting still in the sunshine, by the warmth of the fire, with my babes. Ah....what a gift such a day is.
