I think it's an official rule for all knitters, isn't it? Only knit COLOR in February. When everything out of doors is white, white, white....break it up with color in your hands. This February, I did just that, with the brightest, loveliest of pink yarns! I walked into the yarn shop earlier in the month and picked up four skeins of this, knowing I wanted color in February and that the results would be for Adelaide, whatever pattern I found. This is Malabrigo Rios in English Rose, and the pattern is Little Buds. I made this once before - for Ani - but this is the first time I've made it for Adelaide. It's such a sweet pattern, I really enjoy knitting it. Adelaide isn't a fan of long sleeves, as they get in the way of her work, she says. Even "almost long-sleeves" (also known as three quarters length) are not desired. So I stopped these just before the elbow. And the buttons! They're from IrisDesignSeaglass and are stones found along the shores of Maine. I love that, and so does she. She loves the whole sweater, in fact, and that pleases me so very much.
And well, since March is starting out entirely like February was, I'm thinking maybe this color rule should be extended a few weeks or so, don't you?
