Thank you, truly, for the incredibly kind and generous words you left on my last post! What a gift those are, and a beautiful reminder to me of what this is all about. Thank you, thank you!
As expected, and as demanded by the little miss, we made a new dress on Tuesday while the big kids were playing on the mountain. We went for a Suzanne, a dress I've made so many times over the years. She picked out this yummy fabric - Briar Rose Strawberry Green by Heather Ross. And though the pattern doesn't need buttons, button searching and button selecting is an important part of the process of 'making a dress' for Ani, and so we put two buttons on there just because. I altered the pattern just a bit to include elastic at the shoulders, which helps keep them in place a bit better.
There are only a few more ski days left, which honestly is a very good thing. This little girls dresser drawers are overflowing with her dresses! Ah, but I do so love our Tuesdays together. And despite those dresser drawers, I don't think I could ever say no to "Let's make a dress, Mama!!".
