Home. It feels so good to be here. Though that first blast of New England cold air, walking off the airplane, was a little bit of a shock to the system....every other aspect of coming home has been warm and wonderful. My babies all healthy and happy and ready for Mama to love them up. A clean house (truly), some surprise new house projects nearly complete, and a blog well-tended. Thank you, thank you to Steve and Stacy for their time and energy spent here in my absence!
And though the air temperature and the falling snow (just yesterday) might indicate otherwise, I did return home to spring here in Maine. There's no surer sign than the baby lamb currently in our barn, born on my first morning home (thank you for waiting for me, Emily!). The kids have named her Scarlett. She's a cutie. Add to that a flood of eggs from the chickens and ducks who took much of the winter off, and diving into our Eastover holiday tradition with friends (this year, complete with a multi-age Sound of Music live performance, yay!). Ah...spring is happening....and that warmth I felt on my skin and in my heart in Bali is present here too. See what I just did right there? Dropped a mention of Bali. As in, "This one time, in Bali....." which escapes my mouth every few minutes. Yes, I can't help myself. It was an amazing trip, a life-changing trip, and one that I feel so blessed to have experienced. I'm holding onto the memories and trying to keep it all in my heart.
I was thinking this week I could share with you some of my photos and thoughts about the journey. My children will be relieved if I have someone else to share them with, as I think they're quite done with looking through my vacation slideshow. Not even the monkeys are holding their attention anymore. Well, then...let's hope you like them.
Ah, it's good to be back here. I wish you a wonderful start to your week!
