Greetings from Alewives Fabrics!
Located in beautiful Midcoast Maine in a big red barn, Alewives Fabrics was established in 1978. Since 2004 Alewives Fabrics has been owned and operated by the mother/daughter team of Barbara Neeson and Rhea Butler. We currently have 10 employees and sell a carefully curated selection of fabrics to the local population. Through our webstore we sell to fabric enthusiasts all over the world. Our shop carries lots of different substrates (like vinyl laminate, lawn, double gauze, chambray, linen/cotton blends, voile, flannel and more), but our first love will always be quilting cotton. We have a great selection of modern, designer prints, but we also love timeless classics, like ticking, toile, stripes, dots and paisleys.

SouleMama: Since the last time you were featured on SouleMama, in what ways has your business grown or changed?
Alewives: Since our last feature on Soulemama, we've added a few new workshops to our class list that we are very excited about! In August, we'll be hosting Nichole Vogelsinger (better known as WildBoho to her thousands of Instagram fans) for an embellished embroidery hoop workshop. Noichole's one-of-a-kind embellished embroidery hoops are masterpieces, each and every one. And in October we'll be hosting Lizzy House for a 2-day Meadow Quilt workshop. We've always loved the Meadow Quilt, and it's not available as a pattern: the only way to make this quilt is to take a workshop with Lizzy herself! We're so excited to be bringing these two very talented ladies to our little shop in Maine for a dose of inspiration!
