Greetings from Oak Meadow!
When children are given love, freedom, a natural environment, and opportunities for creative expression, they have always found ways to release their unique genius. By providing these fertile attributes in their homeschooling journey, parents will bring forth artists, scientists, and leaders.
~ Lawrence Williams, Oak Meadow co-founder
Oak Meadow was founded in 1975 by Lawrence and Bonnie Williams, who sought an alternative to the public school setting in an effort to reignite their children's spark for learning. As it turned out, they became pioneers of the modern homeschooling movement, a movement that has resulted in a growing population of homeschooling families around the country and a hot topic in current education news.
Today, Oak Meadow’s flexible, experiential homeschooling curriculum for kindergarten to grade 12 provides students with the educational freedom to explore their interests, talents, and passions. Our approach allows families to set their own natural rhythm of learning and encourages creativity, critical thinking, and intellectual development through hands-on activities and interdisciplinary projects.
Families can use the Oak Meadow curriculum independently or by enrolling in our fully accredited distance learning school. Oak Meadow: We are pleased to announce that Oak Meadow has become the first distance learning school ever to receive accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation (NEASC), a prestigious distinction in the education world. We conducted a rigorous self-study over the last year and a half, and welcomed the NEASC visiting committee for nearly a week of focused review last spring. We learned much about ourselves—our strengths as well as areas that need improvement—and we are grateful that the committee recognized our thought leadership regarding how to develop the right relationship between children living and learning with technology and nature in today’s world.
This weekend, Oak Meadow is generously offering the following gift to ONE lucky SouleMama reader:
$150 gift coupon to use in the Oak Meadow Bookstore
